The Meetings project
Event, Film and Audio work. 2002

A collaboration with a cast of ten actors, taking place over a two day period.
This project was developed through a series of workshops. It was important that this structure only offered the players abstract nstructions to develop their roles, we deliberately denied any form of end game. Each scenario was developed through a constructed state of play, the actors had input and space to steer direction and pace. In the early stages the participants were given hintsand analogies, later they acquired more detailed agenda’s.

This form of structured improvisation was offered as an extension of writing.

The final scenario featured two parties debating ownership of collaborative ideas, offering a critique on the unwritten conflict in any collaboration. Significant events were imposed on
the group, an example being; the slow trickle of a nose bleed taking place during proceedings.
